Dave Cole and Mick Leverett have finished 9th in the K2 at the 2007 World Marathon Canoe Championships, just over four minutes behind the winner. They were part of a pack sprinting for the 6th-9th places, but a bad final turn cost them ground. The first two positions in both the K1 and K2 events were taken out by Spanish crews, extending their recent dominance in these events.
The second Australian mens K2 crew of Mark Rantall and Nick Woodward also paddled well to finish in 20th position.
